Would You Rather Wednesday

Sea Otter or Eagle: which would you rather be? You can see my answer.

Today we...

  • reviewed the vocabulary, grammar and spelling patterns that will be on tomorrow's READING TEST.

  • worked on our October and Leaf acrostic poems. We will do final drafts tomorrow.

  • some kids had time to read an informational text called Life in the West. Ask them about Exodusters. We talked about the meaning of the word exodus, and I sang a few bars for them. Enjoy: https://youtu.be/XDM1bZz3gQk

  • finished, I hope, the Map Terms foldable. This work is done in our new Social Studies notebooks, which I keep at school.

  • will begin the "tracking Illinois" activity. This activity will introduce us to other cities and landforms in Illinois. We will also get some practice reading and using maps.

*Drama week is coming to Disney! Be on the lookout for the 201 event. We will present a "readers theater" collection of Native American tales. We will begin working on this next week. Each student will have a speaking part.

*There is NO SCHOOL this Monday, in honor of Indigenous Peoples Day.

*Don't forget, instruction begins at 7:30, so getting to the CAC by 7:20 is advised.
