Words Matter Wednesday

Today we...

• watched and discussed this Ophra's Masterclass video featuring Alicia Keys. Words do matter, and the right words can pave the way to our success. Check it out!https://youtu.be/r88z8BKRRFo

• completed a quick handwriting practice activity. These practices help us build our vocabulary, and our writing stamina. Handwriting need not be perfect, but legibility is important. We want to communicate our ideas clearly!

• use Brainpop to introduce "Subjects and Predicates." Understanding the parts of a sentence will help us become better writers.

• filled out a Job Application. There are many jobs to be done, and taking care of our classroom is a team effort!

• read a short article about Buzz Aldrin and responded to a few questions. Kids who did not finish this, should do it for homework. I have NOT collected it yet. It should be in the red "take home" folder.

• continued reading A Boy Called Bat. We also read, What if Everybody Did That?

Don't forget to read tonight and bring in a book to share for "Friends with a Book Friday."
