Yes, it is Tuesday, not Monday. This week will fly. Here is some info to keep you up to date.
201 and 202 will take a reading "progress check" on Thursday. We will be tested on vocabulary and concepts we've been working on for two weeks: subjects and predicates, author's purpose, words that compare(-est, -er), and the vocabulary found in Reaching for the Moon.
Students who are arriving even a few minutes late are missing part of their reading block.
A few words about snack: Snack time is becoming messy and unsanitary. We discourage chips and food that encourages "finger licking." Snacks should be healthy, and easy to eat. Candy, nuts, and drinks other than water are not allowed. We really want to preserve this routine. We also want to keep our classroom clean, for all of our sakes. Let's work together to make it work.
Reusable Bags: Do you have an extra reusable bag at home? We are hoping to use reusable bags as "totes" that kids can use to bring supplies back and forth between 201 and 202. If you have one, bring it in. Kids can store their bag here.
This week we will play Disney Bingo, do some creative writing, and explore maps. We are off to a strong start. Thank you for all of your support.
