Sunny Monday Shares Her Smiles

Hello Team 201,

This morning, we read a book about personification, which is one of the poetic devices we are studying. We also learned all about out Students of the Week: Sawaya and Alex.

Here's is the latest:

  • HBD Syncere and Ava!🎂

  • We will take a reading test on Thursday

  • Fourth grade is invited to a storytelling performance in the CAC this Friday. Yay!

  • Be prepared to recite your poem on Thursday or Friday!

  • The Black Leadership Project is due 2/27. All directions are posted on G.C. and were also sent home. Here are the components:

  1. A five paragraph persuasive essay. Why should this person be honored on a U.S. Postage Stamp?

  2. A speech, written in the 1st person. This can be planned on notecards or paper, and does not need to be memorized. You do need to practice!

  3. A fully colored "Postage Stamp" that shows us this person's accomplishments.

  4. The Wax Museum: Students will perform their speeches in the Museum. Students may dress as their person and bring props. For example, if you are studying Mohammed Ali, you may dress as a boxer. Parents and other classes will be invited.
