Make the Magic Monday

Our resident elf, Coalie, is actually on a shelf today. He has positioned himself on one of our bookshelves and is peering at us from inside Syncere's Gratitude Jar. I think Coalie may be dropping us a hint. On Friday, we will definitely fill our empty jars with gratitude. If you haven't brought in a jar yet, please do. Any clean, clear jar will do.

Today we...

  • read or reread Animal Mimicry in My View. If you were absent today or Friday, please make sure to listen to and read the text. It is posted in GC and is on page 267 of My View.

  • built an "Academic Vocabulary" word bank. We are preparing to write songs about Animal Mimics. Tomorrow, we will use familiar tunes to build parodies. Later, students will have the opportunity to create their own music.

  • enjoyed a performance from the Chicago Civic Orchestra. We learned about orchestral instruments and enjoyed the music of Bach. 201 was an excellent audience!

Who will win next week's attendance prize? Last week, 206 and 203 had the best attendance in the pod. We can do this, 201! Let's be here on time and every day!

Where will Coalie be tomorrow? Come to school and find out!
