Feeling Good Friday

We started our day thinking about joy. What brings you joy? Music, a soft pillow, your cat, recess, dancing? Kids filled these empty jars with their "gratitude joys." Some chose to bring them home and some will stay at school. Reading our "Joy Jars" can help us cheer up and count our blessings. I hope that kids can keep adding to these jars!

We also.....

  • worked on our Project Beak presentations.

  • 202 spent most of our time together working on the Mimicry song. This is a challenging activity that takes patience and flexibility and persistence. When stuck, I encourage kids to go back to the text. Start with the content. What are you trying to teach us? The rhymes and rhythm will follow.

  • read! It was Friends With a Book Friday.

Next week:

Our schedule is packed! On Monday, 201 students will celebrate last week's attendance. We had the best attendance in the pod! Yay, us! Next week is the last week to turn in any missing work from Q2 for partial credit. Remember, if you turn in a late assignment, you must email me. Here is a sample:

Dear Mrs. Ginn,

I just turned in this assignment: ________________. Can you please check it for me? Thank you so much. You are the best teacher in the whole wide world. You are better than extra recess. You are better than puppies and kittens. I will never forget you. Ever. I mean it.

Sincerely,

Your name

P.S. You don't have to write sentences 4-9. I'm just having a little fun!

Have a great weekend!

Mrs. Ginn
